PSN Leak spells lengthy offline stint for gamers

After A WEEK of investigations for the SONY PSN and Qriocity Stream Service. The Sony Playstation Blog has released a statement as to why their Services have been down. According to the PS Blog an unauthorized outside user hacked the system and got subscribers of both PSN and Qriocity Stream Service personal info. The blog does not confirm how many users have been effected by the Hacker Attack and have not confirmed if the hacker got people's Credit Card Numbers. But the Blog writer for PS has said that all users should be on the side of Caution and check Credit card account statements. It also urges users that once operations of PSN and Qriocity have resumed to change passwords.

I am all for investigating and taking measures to ensure everything is as it says it. But to say you discovered compromised account information between the 17th and 19th and then bring it to the attention of your users on 26th.... THAT ANNOUNCEMENT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE THE SECOND YOU TURNED OFF YOUR SERVICES. Instead of leaving your users in the dark as to why they can not Get movies, games, updates, new streaming video games and play their games online. I respect due diligence when it comes to investigating network flaws. But you have to let the people (people that have trusted their information to your services) know that hey it is possible your account has been compromised so umm be careful and watch your personal shit.

Sony Playstation. I love you, I love your products but shit like this makes it harder for me to defend you.

A Sad Day for Doctor Who Fans

According to the Doctor Who Magazine Twitter and seemingly other in the know Geek figures and news sites dedicated to DW have reported that Elisabeth Sladen the actress best known for her role as Doctor Who Companion Sarah Jane Smith has passed away at the age of 63. For the newer fans of the series, Sladen returned to reprise her role as Sarah Jane with the tenth Doctor in the new Series 2. She will be surely missed by her friends, family and fans a like.

Update: At 5:45pm Eastern Standard Time A BCC site announced the Actresses passing. My deepest condolences go to the Sladen Family and Too Elisabeth's Daughter (Sadie Miller) who appeared along side her mother on Sarah Jane Smith's audio plays.

This is not the Alpha House (AP:G2 review 3/3)

On this journey through the Second generation of American Pie. We have went from Band Camp back to East Great Falls High School and Finally back to the college of the infamous original cast. This is BETA House, The best party frat house on campus. BETA House continues the story of Erik Stifler, now a Fresh in college and four months free from his high school sweetheart who left him for pretty boy Trent. Single and ready to mingle Erik and his new roommate Bobby and His Best Friend Cooze are brought to BETA House for a Rush Party by Erik's Cousin Dwight.

Throughout the hijinx of being a BETA pledge, Erik falls in love with a girl from his Dorm. The battle with the Geek House only serves to strengthen the relationship.

On the point of the Geek House. The Geek House is a new frat like the midget frat who formed specifically to only accept people like themselves. Except The Geek House has pretty much taken over everything and has even gotten the Midget Frat evicted from the school. After a prank by the new pledges The Geeks Challenge the BETAs to the Greek Oylmpiad a series of events designed around Frat Life in order to see who the is the better frat. The games themselves had been banned on the Campus for the past forty years and the house who has always won the Golden Hammer of the games has been the BETAs.

With the story laid out lets get to the nitty gritty. The Geek house is way to overacted and are not what you would expect of a Geek House. When you think geek house I hope you are thinking of the geeks from Revenge of the Nerds. The Geeks in this movie are way to over played and don't seem real. The acting in the movie is what you would expect of an American Pie Movie. But out of all the second generation movies Beta house is the best of the three. I shouldn't have liked this movie but I did, because it made me laugh a lot.

So I have to give this movie a 7 out of 10

Run A Mile....Naked (AP:G2 Review 2/3)

From the summer in Tall Oaks Band Camp we go to the other youngest Stifler. Erik, Steve and Matt's cousin. From the very look to the lack of douche bagness Erik is every the Stiflers are not. He is smart, kind and has a steady girl friend. (This statement takes into account that Matt probably fucked his relationship up with Elyse). Most importantly Erik unlike the rest of the Stifler Clan, Erik is a a virgin. And this to him is a problem, and it leads to him having a conversation about it with his virgin girlfriend Tracey. Who in turn after being talked into by her friends, decides she is going to give herself to Erik. When the virginity hit plan fails and Erik gets the shit scared out of him (Literally). Deciding she is still not ready, Tracey gives Erik a one weekend guilt free pass. Can you say WHAT THE @#$% ARE YOU THINKING.

The guilt free pass just so happens to coincide with the running of the Naked Mile. A time after exams when students run a mile in their birthday suits. Erik and his two best friends are on a mission GET ERIK DE-VIRGINIZED because that is what best friends do for each other.

The story is basic, and cliche with midget gags thrown in. There is way WAY to many gag scenes with midgets in them. The main character Erik Stifler doesn't try to over act his voice and pretend to be Steve like Matt does (which gives this movie some points). The pacing of the script was a bit better then Band Camp and the dialog was at least engaging. The characters are likable even the douche college age Dwight Stifler is likable. The story while cliche was still enjoyable.

MY VERDICT. I give American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile a 7 out of 10

A slice of Band Camp Pie (AP2.0 review 1/3)

The American Pie trilogy the ones that defined my high school career. The ones where we got the Term MILF from forever etched into our minds. When thinking of American Pie you think of Jim the kid who fucked the apple pie and then went on to marry the Nympho Band geek chick. But then we get into the movies I am going to review.....

Here is American Pie Presents Band Camp.

The story is about Steve Stiffler's little brother Matt (Tad Hilgenbrink)and like his elder half wit sex crazed brother. Matt is following the same foot path, everyone in the high school hates him but pretends to like him because he is rich. After a half successful half failed Graduation prank. Matt is sent to spend the summer at Tall Oaks Band Camp. Before leaving he hatches a hair brained scheme to film the freaky sex acts he heard about from Jim. HIJINX and budding love (via Stockholm syndrom) ensue. We see the gradual shifting of Matt Stiffler from sex crazed asshole to sex crazed nerd lover.

The reluctant catalyst of the transformation in Matt comes in the form or the Catherin Heigl.....I mean Arielle Kebbel a former childhood friend of Matt who turned against him because Matt became to much like Steve. Only to fall in love with Matt during the summer. The budding relationship is tested when Elyse finds out Matt's plan involving the other campers. When Matt redeems himself later she forgives him.

It is your typical cliche teen drama comedy story. The acting besides for the Elyse character is mind rapingly bad. The Dialog is cheesy at best and down right idiotic at worst. Even the band characters are out of place and unbelievable except for the super nerd he was the only believable side character in all of this douchebaggery.

American Pie Presents Band Camp gets a 5 out of 10. The story, pacing issues, dialog and cinematography all make for a bad movie that leaves a rancid taste in your mouth. The only redeemers to this movie are Elyse (Arielle Kebbel) and Mr. Levinstien (Eugean Levy). Do yourself a favor and if you are oging to watch this movie watch it drunk and or high. That will probably make this movie Tolerable.

The end of an Era

This past Monday night, brought about an announcement that forever changes the world of the WWE. Granted there is many changes in that world but this one strikes close to home because one of my favorite wrestlers is retiring. Adam Copeland (Edge) announced that after a battery of tests he was told by doctors that he has no choice but to retire.

For those of you unaware Edge has been a long standing character having main evented Wrestlemania with the Undertaker, to many many many other history worthy matches. I am proud to say through even the ultra heel era where he was hated by pretty much everyone. I remained a loyal fan. With edge retiring the WWE Universe will need to find someone just as charismatic and natural on the Mic as he was.

An end of great era and I thank you Adam Copeland for all the memories.

What is to come in the next three posts

The next three posts I will be delving into the Unrated Unholy Trilogy that is American Pie The Second Generation (Band Camp, The Naked Mile and Beta House)

oh this is going to be rough......

Undergrads (The Click) a review

In April of 2001 a show was aired on MTV called Undergrads or The Click in certain Countries. It was a show about the misadventures of Nitz Walsh and his childhood friends through out their freshman year of college. Let me first talk about the characters. You have Nitz your typical freshman who hasn't broken out of his awkwardly social shell. Nitz's room mate Cal who happens to be one of his childhood friends. Cal is a ladies man, and women throw themselves at him in droves to which at one point he says "I need a break from all my lady guy friends. I am shooting out air." Rocko the underachiever friend of the Click who goes to a local Community College. Rocko is a drinker, a jerk and loves to alienate people, this ultimately leads him to appear to have no friends outside of Nitz, Gimpy and Cal (even though he claims to hate Cal). Last but not least you have the groups nerd Gimpy. Gimpy is a shut-in megalomaniac who hates the outdoors, jocks and girls (despite falling in love with a female hacker who just so happens to live in the dorm room next to his) being smarter then the rest of his friends he attends Teckerson Tech a school which seems to only have highly intelligent nerds attending.

There is a lot of secondary characters who seem to be more main then secondary like the character Jesse, she is the new friend in the group who Nitz falls in love with after seeing her naked. He ultimately gets shot down by her only to have her fall in love with him by the end of the show. But Nitz's main love interest through out the show is Kimmy Burton who is in love with an openly gay guy named Lance (though she is completely clueless to that fact). That love story is your typical "oh I love her and she doesn't." With the other girl going "Oh yeah cause NO ONE else will love you." While giving the guy the subtle hint that "Hey I am here you dumb fuck." Despite the cliche love interest story. It is a very well made show which leads me to wonder why it was canceled just after one season. Upon research the networks deemed it a financial failure and that is why it was canceled. The creator of the show had said in a blog statement a few years back that he is still interested in getting the second season made. I for one hope it does find away to get made.

If you can get your hands on the DVDs for this show do it. It is a fun show to watch. Or you can watch the show on youtube. Either way you should diffidently give this underrated show a shot.

Calling out a critic

Okay first of all I know that everyone is entitled to an opinion even if said opinion is contrary to my own. But I should hope people are open minded enough to at least hear my side of why I dislike something and not just automatically jump into defense mode. I give you the respect of hearing you out before I tear down your Jericho Wall of fandom. When talking to a critic you have to realize that he or she sets the same standard for what they are reviewing as they set for themselves (at least I do). When going into a movie we go in with an open mind and will watch and tell what we think is wrong and where it can improve knowing full well that the director or artist will not take our opinion into consideration. We review and critique because we have a love for the art of what we are reviewing. Me movies are my review point of choice. While I know a lot of my reviews may come off as biased I give every movie the chance it deserves and if I am feeling generous because someone told me I should give it another shot I will.

When it comes to other reviewers and critics I use the rule of three. I will give that reviewer/critic three chances and will rarely give fourth or fifth chances. Take Film Brain for example, I gave him five chances and by the fifth he had impressed me. I will more likely then not, stop watching something after three tries because three is the baseball rule (you know three strikes and your out). It may not seem fair but that is how I roll.

All I ask in return is that if you are going to call me out, at least give me the same respect I would give you. :)
