Sonic Generations 1st Impressions

The sonic series, in general is one I grew up with and was one of the games I played as a child. It was a series that grew up with me through my childhood. I admit, my exposure to the Second generation stuff with Sonic with Green Eyes is limited. But that did not stop me from playing Sonic Generations.

Act one of each stage, brings back the feelings I got when I first picked up a Genesis Controller at my Cousin's house and played Sonic for the very first time. They gave sonic the Spin dash (A power that stayed with him starting with Sonic 2). Which is cool. And there is the skills in which you can buy and upgrade the fastest thing alive. Playing as Classic Sonic is a trip down memory lane and I love every second of it.

At first when I played Modern Sonic, I was overwhelmed with how much more complex the controls and the game style was. From the speed boost which can be upgraded later in the game. To the Light speed dash, switching from 3d to 2d is a bit odd to get adjusted to if you haven't dealt with the transition of 3 to 2d in other games.

Overall, I find this game highly enjoyable, the soundtrack is unbelievable and the story of how both worlds seemed to collide is very well done. Go out and buy this game, you have lots of fun with it.
